I haven't found any guidelines for playing a were here. Are Lycans required to be blood thirsty fiends? Can they only change during the full moon or can they change at will? What are their wolf avatars supposed to look like? I have one that actually looks like a wolf - is that okay? Is there a pack? Are there multiple packs? Is there an alpha that I need to go pay my respect to?

Hi Mara! I believe there's a notecard in the RP resource center on weres that has a lot of useful information. You're not required to RP a were in any particular way, it's your RP... we're happy to support how you want to do it. We do try to push for realistic looking avatars, and have done some significant testing on different avis for comparisons of cost to script time, etc, if you check in with the were player group, you'll be able to get lots of information.

We do have a pack which runs together about once a month (during the full moon), the rest of the time they play in their separate factions/groups. More details on that here:

I was having problems with getting tags and information in the welcome center yesterday. I wasn't especially laggy, so I don't know if it's because I use Emerald. How do I join the Lycan group?

((ignore the fact that my avatar has pointy ears. they're part of my avatar. i can't take them off. i play an elf in my home sim of Steelhead. So, if you ever run into me with long blonde hair - you've run into Mara the Elf.))

Check in with Minerva Breda, Sea Nightfire or Blitz Salamander, one of them should be able to hook you up with the pack.

I've seen many people have trouble slapping MM boards who were using Emerald. I don't know if that might be related to the trouble you encountered, Mara. :-)
