Proposed adjustments to races/classes and skills
10/10/09 7:49 PM

So Eel, who has always been a good friend to Erie, spent an exhaustive amount of time doing a real in-depth analysis of our current setup. I agree with a lot of what he says, though not necessarily all. But I would love to get feedback from the people who regular play these characters, which I clearly am not. So i'm posting the entire set of notecards here for discussion, broken into separate threads so each can be discussed. Let us know what you think!

Bear in mind... some changes.. such as adjusting initial base stats... will not effect existing players. However some, such as adjusting and/or changing powers, very much would do so. So please... let us know what you think.

Dear Erie people,

The following notecards detail (and I mean detail) a series of proposed changes that I believe will make the sim's RPCS configuration much better by improving the diversity of the races, classes, and powers, and correcting imbalances. I firmly believe after going through every single feature of the set up, that these changes will not only help the combat, but help the role play as well. These changes will give distinctions to the races and classes in a way that adds strengths and weaknesses, flaws and superlatives to the different character types. The classes will each have a unique combination of traits and style of combat. Each race will be balanced in overall power while still exibiting very different qualities.

Although I have studied the set up in exhaustive (and exhausting) detail, I am of course limited by lacking any high level character experience in Erie's current configuration. So, your feedback is incredibly important. What I am recommending is that people read and discuss each nc. If you have observations, make a return copy of the notecard. Type your comments in ALL CAPS in the relevant section of the nc (or at the top if a general comment). Delete all areas of the nc NOT relevant to your comments. edit the title of the nc to include your name at the end of the phrase (also remember to put it in the nc itself).

Colleen will figure out an approval process. I still have a few weeks before I return to work, so if approved I can start on the changes right away and complete them fairly quickly. When completed, I am recommending doing an OOC town hall/Q&A type meeting to explain the basic nature of the changes and provide detailed nc's of each Race, Class, and their respective powers. Of course the changes will be visible online as well.

Thanks,

Eel Eebus
