Paradox was not born but created. The science of cloning and genetic alterations has always been safeguarded from public knowledge. Very little is ever revealed, and when it is it's only after much deliberation and careful distribution of information. He was created in a laboratory, though a failed experiment of hybridization. The scientists were aiming for traits such as night vision and agile reflexes but what they got was a creature with not only those inherant feline instincts but physical features and habits also.

At first his development was accelerated at the rate of typical feline growth. As he reached the age of human puberty his biological processes slowed to nearer that of a normal human. It had been considered to terminate him early on when his physical "mutations" were evident but he was allowed to exist in a controlled environment, prohibited from interaction with the outside world save for those who observed, tested and educated him.

With the aid of a sympathetic soul he was able to escape the facility and only home he'd known to attempt a normal life. Hiding his ears beneath caps, trimming whiskers and tucking in his tail he tried to blend in with New York city dwellers.

Urban living took its toll on him, his cat-like habits prohibiting him from blending in with much of society, finding himself homeless and roaming the streets using and selling drugs among those who simply considered his feline gestures a result of being crazy or high on heroin. His dealings led him to trouble with local crime syndicates until he had to flee the city to save his life. He stowed away on a cargo ship but once discovered in the hold of the boat near its destination he was thrown overboard and left for dead. He washed up on the shore of Erie Isle with mild amnesia and little recollection of his past. This past has slowly returned to him with time.

During captivity and following it he was unaware of other catlike or hybrid creatures in the world ouside of the laboratory. If he meets any of these in Erie they will be of great interest to him.

As of now he's a recovered heroin addict. If he returns to his addictions players can expect him to often be high, sometimes acting erratically under the influence and/or while jonesing for a fix.

He has a strong dislike and disresepct toward those who take others as pets or slaves, whether the relationship is benign or otherwise, as a result of both his history of personal captivity and his experiences in Erie.
