Oliver was born in Bethesda, Maryland, the second son of Margaret and T'awah Stormcrow. His brother, Edward, had a five year head start on Oliver. The two of them never got along in their childhood, Edward resenting the tranquility of his life the arrival of his brother disturbed.
While Edward was failing school, getting arrested and eventually jailed for heroine possession, Oliver moved through with perfect grades and a love of the written word. He landed a full scholarship after high school and enrolled in Georgetown University to major in Journalism.
At the end of his fourth year at GTU, Oliver applied for the graduate program was immediately accepted, taking on a part time job in teaching English. Edward was released on parole that same year, and visited Oliver often, proclaiming he was ready to make amends for the strained relationship during their early years. Happy to have a brother in his life, Oliver welcomed Edward with open arms.
His first mistake. At the beginning of his first year in graduate school, and looking forward to a three month journeyman stint with a well known news anchor from New York, Oliver disappeared from his life, stepping out into the alley where he bartended nights to answer a phone call on his cell, never to step back in.
Oliver had no idea how long he was kept hidden—injected repeatedly with experimental drugs—and forever marked with a number on the back of his neck. Most of that time became little more than a blur with lucid moments of pain, agony and madness. He started to believe the life he lived before this box of four silver walls was a dream, and that his parents—his future—had never existed.
Until the shots stopped and he was taken to see the facility's director. To his surprise he was told he'd been chose—sold to them—because of his genetic makeup. A questionable parentage. And the one that sold him was his brother, Edward Stormcrow. Edward had wiped his debts clean with his profits. But now it was evident that Edward had deceived them—and that Oliver's genetic code wasn't what they'd hoped. The director, a woman calling herself Kashi, felt Oliver should know why he'd been experimented on and why he was being terminated. And once he was dead, his parents would be hunted down as well, and destroyed, so that all evidence of his existence would be removed.

The director, a woman calling herself Kashi, felt Oliver should know why he'd been experimented on and why he was being terminated. And once he was dead, his parents would be hunted down as well, and destroyed, so that all evidence of his existence would be removed.
Rage burned deep inside of him as his mind cleared for the first time since being brought to this place. Oliver felt a comforting buzzing in his ears as his mind broke down the woman's voice, revealing to him every decibel, every nuance, every tonal change as she spoke. And as that buzzing grew
louder, so did the churning deep inside of his chest, until finally when she stopped talking, smiled and said, "Kill him," to the men flanking Oliver. But he used the blast the weapons trained on his head and released the power, just as Kashi shouted "He's not drugged!" Sound turned into kinetic energy—a sonic explosion that disintegrated the chains, everyone in the room, as well as the walls. When it was done—Oliver had no idea how he'd survived. Only that everyone in the room was dead. And his head was pounding.
After picking his way through the mess of twisted metal, debris, bone and blood, Oliver walked out of the facility and moved back into his life, learning he'd been gone for four years. He used his new ability slowly at first—blasting small locks on doors, safes, anything that kept him doing what he needed to do—which was get home to his parents and protect them. When he returned to Bethesda, he found them already dead in their home, their throats cut out, their blood drained.
Upstairs he found Edward in his room, sitting in the corner. He told Oliver Kashi had done this. That he hadn't sold Oliver to them—but their parents had. That the woman who'd kidnapped him and experimented on him was a vampire and had used her blood in hopes of creating a race of creatures with extraordinary powers. Kashi had already killed their parents and had told Oliver everything in hopes of getting the emotional reaction she believed would release his abilities.
But Kashi had survived Oliver's release, and was now set to have her little pet back. She'd put a price on Oliver's head. Which was too bad—Edward needed the money. The brothers fought—Edward demonstrating a power of his own—but were interrupted by the arrival of the police. The brothers disappeared in different directions. Oliver moved to Baltimore and found a small job at a restaurant. There, he found the way to Erie—a place where he could disappear from the outside world.
But one day he hoped to return to the mainland and destroy Kashi for what she did to his parents, and destroy her organization for what they did to him. As for Edward...there was always the inevitable.

"I met a traveller from an antique land who said:
Two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert.
Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown and wrinkled lip,
and sneer of cold command tell that its sculptor well those passions read which yet survive,
stamp'd on these lifeless things, the hand that mocked them and the heart that fed. and on the
pedestal these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings, Look on my works, ye Mighty and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away." ~ Percy Shelley
