Erie Isle Wiki: Ayla Paulino
Name: Ayla, last name of no importance
Age: Mid-twenties
Race: Half-Zebra
Sex: Female
Orientation: Straight
Ayla was born looking like her mom, a half-zebra. Her early childhood memories are good, they lived an idyllic life in the jungle. At the age of 6 her father, a charming, persuasive but abusive human gambler came to collect his daughter. He used Ayla to pay off his gambling debts by providing sexual services. She ran away from him after 5 years of mental and physical rapes. Ayla fled back to the jungle only to discover the village and all its inhabitants had vanished in a fire. Devistated she returned to the city where she worked as a whore, the only thing she knew how to do. Ayla was 14 when she got 'adopted' by a retired boxer who felt pity for her. Her 'mentor' taught her to fight, giving her an inner-strength she never knew she had. He died when she was 19 and with her new-found confidence she started working as a bouncer while she would roam the rough streets at night to participate in illegal street-fights, searching for an adrenaline rush and hungry to better her fighting skills.
Love is a word Ayla vaguely remembers from a long time ago and now she confuses love with having passionate sexual relationships with different men, but has never given her heart and soul to just one person. One night after work she stumbled upon a young man trying to rape a girl in a backside alley. She killed the man without hesitation and became friends with the girl. Ayla felt drawn to this girl and somehow felt the need to protect her. Their relationship reminds her of the love she felt in her youngest years while living with her mom. When her friend one day told her about her plans to go to Erie Isle without revealing the 'why', she didnt ask any questions but insisted on following her as her bodyguard. Once here in Erie Ayla couldnt help but still feel a hunger for excitement and danger and often left her friend in the apartment while going out herself to roam the sewers in search for some sort of action. When her friend got angry with her and left the isle, Ayla decided to stay.

A few months after her arrival in Erie Ayla now is generally known as a curious, hyper, happy, easy-going, not shy, flirtatious, slightly ignorant, always in for fun half-zebra with no morals. She makes friends easily and doesnt judge people based on race. She has no problems betraying them though if that would mean she'd get into some action. She used to 'fool' around a lot but has given her promise to Al, the man she loves more than anyone else, to stop with that. She is highly intrigued by demons and struggles with her 'natural' friendly nature and her longing to become more 'evil'. Ayla will find it hard not to hit on everyone remotely male even though she is determined to be faithful to Al. She also finds it hard to push through when she attempts to do something 'evil' (chaotic) but enjoys the thrill and adrenaline rush when she succeeds.
Al one day out of the blue dumps Ayla, calling her a slut and basically leaving her heartbroken and desperate. She had never betrayed him and doesnt understand what she has done wrong. Around that time, Leon came into her life. He claims to be her guardian angel and sais he has watched over her since she was a little girl, had fallen in love with her and begged God to let him come to Erie to be with her. Her heart fragile and broken after the break-up with Al, she embraces her Angel and quickly falls as much in love with him as he is with her. The only thing she asks of him though is to love her, respect her and accept her for who she is. She is not 'angelic' and not willing to make promises regarding monogamy.
Within one week after Leon and Ayla met, he proposes to her. Ayla is blown away by this, but can't give him an answer. She thinks she loves Leon, but actually marrying him? Deep down she knows she still loves Al. She could never give her vows to anyone else. That same night, Al suddenly returns. She doesnt believe her eyes, but her heart tells her all she needs to know.
Ofcourse she chooses for Al, her heart belongs to him no matter what. Ayla breaks up with Leon, for the first time being on the flipside of the dumping-action. Its not much more fun being the dumper than the dumpee. But luck is not on her side. Al leaves her once more and instead of wallowing in sorrow she commits her time fully to the Movement and other plots and schemes she has going on, to distract herself from the hole in her heart that will eat her alive if she'd allow it to.
After a lot of drama within a short time. Her main goal now is staying 'friends' with everyone, getting their trust and make them tell her things they wouldnt normally share with just anyone. Listening carefully and eventually when the opportunity knocks ... use it in her own advantage. Ayla might get in over her head and chances are more than likely that her wicked schemes will stab her in the back. How long can one remain the trust of everyone?
