Political Coverage: Press Conference

February 6, 2010 Council Press Conference

Today’s press conference was held in the Phantom Theater.  This might seem a strange place to hold the event.  It did to me at first, until I witnessed the drama that unfolded.  It is obvious to the casual observer that the town is gripped by chaos. fear, and childish whims.

The council, consisting of Erulisse Aedipo, Sadie Winterwolf, and Becky Masala, presented the new Erie Isle Vital Services Protection Act.  This act outlines several measures aimed at protecting volunteers.  It was also noted that it provides no coverage for those taking the law into their own hands.  Documentation of this act was made freely available at the theater.

The second order of business was the abolishment of the Erie Isle Protection Powers law.  This was announced and accepted without much debate or discussion.  The laws, which had previously given much power to the law enforcement branch was seen as no longer needed.

The crowd was very vocal in views regarding the EISD.  A common thread of frustration at what the assembled called ineffective and bias was voiced.  The law enforcement on scene made attempts to address and defend themselves in this verbal attack.  The words while not eloquent were direct and evasive.

As the meeting was being adjourned by Ms. Aedipo, discontinuity and discord was seen present in the council.  Both, Ms. Masala and Ms. Winterwolf, attempted to make statements at the same time.  Ms. Masala read a statement from a concerned business person.  The statement called into question the tactics of the Sheriff Department again.  Ms. Winterwolf went on to declare intentions to take the current mayor’s seat with claims of incompetence.  The mayor, who was at the meeting despite being upset at losing a good nap, stated that he was being unjustly blamed for things such as the recent bombing.

The event ended abruptly when an attack of nonhumans, possibly zombies, came in and the towns many armed citizens once again became an angry mob.
