If you're new to Second Life and Erie Isle, getting started can seem complicated.  Here's some simple step by step instructions for the basics you need to know:

Sign up for your Second Life account and install the viewer software

• Sign up for a Second Life account.  During the sign up process you'll download and install the Second Life Viewer software.

Learn the Basics: How to Navigate, Communicate and use your Inventory

• Basic Navigation - How to move around
• Communication - How to talk in local chat and send instant messages
• Teleporting - Getting Around In Second Life
• Appearance - Changing Your Appearance (the basics)
• More Tutorials - Check the Second Life Wiki for a wide range of additional topics

Don't Be Shy

If you are brand new to Second Life and Erie Isle and just getting started, ask questions! The best way is in Instant Message: right click on another avatar, click "Send Instant Message" and a window will pop up. You can introduce yourself there. Let them know you are new and looking to get involved in the roleplay!

Remember Our Staff Are Players Just Like You

Erie Isle staff are dedicated volunteers who want to have time to play. They'll be happy to help you get started and answer questions, but try not to monopolize their time.  If you have a basic getting started question, check here, or ask another player in the Erie Isle Homeless group.
